Céline is expecting her first child. But she is not pregnant. In three months, Nadia, her wife, will give birth to their daughter. Under the watchful eye of her friends and mother, and in the eyes of the law, she tries to find her place and her legitimacy.

Céline [Ella Rumpf] and Nadia [Monia Chokri] are among the first gay partners in France to be allowed to call themselves parents to their child. Because Céline is not a biological parent, she has to jump through all kinds of hoops to obtain formal recognition (a year after the birth), including written statements from at least 15 people that Céline also behaves as a parent ought to. The judge attaches particular value to the opinion of Céline's mother (and concert pianist) Marguerite [Noémie Lvovsky]. When Céline discovers that Marguerite is in Paris to prepare for a concert, she seeks her out. Told from Céline's perspective, this exposes the bureaucratic recognition procedure by making it clear that Céline and Nadia struggle with the same fears and uncertainties as heterosexual (biological) parents. Just like real life, drama and humor, joy and sorrow intertwine in a raw, realistic drama with three excellently developed and acted lead roles.
