Pig Hill plot
Carrie, a young woman haunted by the mysterious disappearances of women in her small town, investigates the folklore of the so-called "pig people." She discovers the terrifying truth about her own brother Chris, who has been hiding a sinister past since childhood. As they fight to survive in a twisted game of cat and mouse, Carrie and her friend Andy realize that the legends of Pig Hill are rooted in a horrifying reality.

Director Kevin Lewis has experience with larger productions, and one might expect a basic level of quality from his projects, but Pig Hill falls short primarily on the substance. Normally, a loss of logic isn't a major issue in this type of film, but given how emphatically this whole thing tries to prove itself with the story, it is quite glaring. Lewis attempts to distract the viewer here and there through graphic violence and brutal moments, but ultimately cannot disguise the fact that the premise makes no sense and certainly fails to capitalize on Rainey Qualley's mediocre lead performance. Fortunately, Shane West and Shiloh Fernandez fare somewhat better, but they too cannot save the film from the overwhelming mediocrity.
