Laura and her boyfriend end up in a car accident where he loses his life. After getting out of the car, Laura enters the house and the lives of strangers. This family offers her the necessary care, but their motives turn out to be more complex than initially assumed.

Though it clocks in at under 90 minutes, this psychological drama is far too long and therefore (extremely) dull. Young pianist Laura [Paula Beer] survives a bizarre accident on a remote road. The paramedics are happy for an unknown, eccentric woman [Barbara Auer] to take her in. It's briefly reminiscent of Misery, but it's mostly misery with a family hiding an easily unraveled secret. Why it takes so long for Laura to realize this and pack her bags is a question only Petzold could have answered. Well-acted, but extremely long-winded, and the final scene is a travesty.
