After a miscarriage, Jaimy [Noortje Herlaard] and Leon [Vincent van der Valk] are told by their gynecologist [Mehrnoush Rahmai] that Jaimy will be almost impossible to carry to term naturally. After their consultation, an unknown woman [Anne-Laure Vandeputte] gives Leon a brochure about a holistic group led by gynecologist Nicole [Tamar van den Dop] that "empowers women." Within moments, Nicole is sitting on the grieving couple's couch, promising the world. Stylishly filmed, but hollow, this psychological drama features two cardboard protagonists and a superficial, subpar script that offers no insight into Jaimy and Leon's background and never explains why they so quickly and so easily fall for Nicole's questionable practices, despite Herlaard and Van den Dop's good acting.

I have a positive outlook. However, I do want to point out that I don't think the label 'Horror' fits this film very well (as the only genre mentioned), which is why I quite understand the sometimes low ratings (from Horror enthusiasts)..! As for genres, it is mainly Drama that dominates, with some sparse Horror and Fantasy elements, but despite that, it certainly managed to stick with me. Decent script and fine acting, with the most notable performance being the previously unknown Vincent van der Valk. Solid film! 7/10*

A half-successful attempt at horror... a film that feels like a drama until the very end, when some real horror finally makes an appearance. The twist is a bit strange, though: a weird midwife who gets the couple pregnant using pagan remedies, but then snaps and ensures the child is delivered much too early and the mother dies? It all seems a bit contradictory.
