Citizen Vigilante plot
"The line between right and wrong blurs in the shadows."
Sanders is a man who can no longer stand to watch crime and decides to take the law into his own hands. His hunt for criminals is spread on social media after which he is regarded as a hero by many citizens. Interpol also has him in its sights and agent Henry is given the task of stopping Sanders.

even though it is actually a rubbish film about a so-called vigilante (a kind of civilian guard)
There is a lot of truth in that.
as things stand now, crimes can be committed at will, such as rapes and citizens being assaulted "for no reason"—crime that is dealt with nothing, absolutely nothing.
Sentences that are far too lenient, criminals who simply go free because of the flawed justice system.
Much, much stricter action will have to be taken to stop this.

Watched it because of the 'controversy' (Streisand effect!) and because I actually liked Rampage.
A daring film that breaks taboos, which I can appreciate, but as a film, it just wasn't good enough.
But a few intense action scenes, unnecessarily long or generally unnecessary filler scenes (in the brothel, for example), but a few soundtrack songs that were constantly repeated or went on playing for too long (that suspenseful music in the hospital, or the same song for 10 minutes in the club).
The acting also left something to be desired; only Armie Hammer seemed to be speaking his own language. And was that news anchor dubbed with AI? The intonation sounded very weird.
The gory effects during the gunfights are nice though.
A case of great idea, mediocre execution.

Most people associate Uwe Boll with: House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne.
When I think of him, Rampage, Stoic Darfur, Assault in Wall Street. The man really can make films. And we need someone like Uwe more than ever.
Hollywood is burning, and luckily we have him. Who delightfully presents us with those exploitation/B-movies.
And so it is again in Citizen Vigilante.
No AI, no CGI, zero percent woke, just hard themes in your face. And man Boll doesn't give a single fuck.
Arnie Hammer is really good in the film as Vigilante. His gaze, posture, and monologues are very strong. The message in the film is brutal. Banned in Germany, and I understand why. Curious how long it will take before it gets banned in the UK.
Is the film perfect? No, certainly not. But that’s okay. We just need more films like this. Directors like Boll need to be supported.
