A new film from the director of Aanmodderfakkerand De ontmaagding van Eva van End, looking forward to it! Well, that was a bit disappointing. This film has little to do with those two. It is commendable that someone does not make the same film over and over again, but unfortunately for me that choice is wrong now.

First of all, there was of course that Limburg accent. Most actors come really close and that is really great, but you constantly hear that it is not their own language and that really bothers me. I also had the idea that they were sometimes so busy with the correct pronunciation that they did not get around to good acting. If you really want to make a Limburg film, then cast Limburg actors. They really do exist.

Furthermore, I couldn't do much with it. Confusing story, many long-winded parts, and the worst: I didn't laugh once.

It all looked very nice, yes. But yes.

Wow, wow, what an incredibly cool film! Look, we already knew that Michiel ter Horn is a truly original filmmaker who can do just about anything. Comedies, horror—he doesn't care. But this time, I think he's found his genre. A nightmare with a twist, a dark fairytale. With a touch of crime. And all of this in Limburgish. Although I have to say, a few actors fell through the cracks here; Victor Low really can't do a Limburg accent. But that shouldn't spoil the fun; the clay of the Peel is so delicious. The historical background—I love this film! I'm going to watch it again tomorrow. I swear, you're going to see this film, and you can never say that Dutch films are crap again!

A decent film about a criminal who hopes to become a major player again through a drug deal. The film's dryly comic tone works well (the bleak Limburg setting and Fedja van Huêt's excellent performance complement it well). However, the smaller stories slow the film down a bit, and it goes in too many directions.
