"A journey, a meeting, a second chance."
Marie is 80 years old and has had enough of her illness. She has a plan; to go to Switzerland to end her life. But when the time comes to tell Bruno, her irresponsible son, and Anna, her teenage granddaughter, she panics and makes up a big lie. Using a mysterious inheritance in a Swiss bank as an excuse, she suggests they go on a trip together. As an unwitting accomplice in this masquerade, Rudy, a caregiver she has just met, gets behind the wheel of the family's old camper and takes the family on an unexpected journey.

Good film about an elderly woman who requests assisted suicide after her cancer has returned. The dynamics between the characters are entertainingly worked out, but the balance between comedy and drama does not work equally well everywhere. Enough beautiful moments and this road movie does not sag anywhere.

Yet another variation on Intouchables in which a grumpy nurse [Pierre Lottin] reluctantly takes a client [Hélène Vincent] with metastatic breast cancer to Switzerland to be euthanized. Her son [David Ayal] and granddaughter [Juliette Gasquet] are also from the past, but they think they have to sign papers to receive an inheritance and therefore know nothing about it. The actors make the best of it and all the ingredients for the road movie formula can be neatly checked off. A bit of originality would have been welcome.
