A real family film about a magical forest and a family that has grown apart. Fairly cliché and predictable, but with a fun, cheerful, and colorful setting.
Nice to watch with a young family

Quite childish, but the film does have pace. But maybe that's required for kids these days.... And I'm not allowed to give it away... but it all works out in the end. Pretty standard, all of it.

Tim [Andrew Garfield] and Polly [Claire Foy] move to Tim's remote hometown in the hope that the bond with and between their children will improve there. The kids aren't thrilled, until the youngest of them [Billie Gadson] stumbles upon a magical world in the woods. Based on the book series by Enid Blyton, starring Rebecca Ferguson as the nominal baddie, Jennifer Saunders as Tim's critical mother, and full of cameos from comedians including Simon Russell Beale, Lenny Henry, and Michael Palin as an amusing variation on The Knight Who Says “Ni!”. Entertaining, but not groundbreaking, with the familiar life lessons about the importance of imagination and family.
