"Six Million Steps" is a documentary about the lives of hikers as they journey along the Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches 1,650 miles, the length of the U.S. Pacific Coast. From Mexico to Canada, the Pacific Crest Trail winds through three states, seven national parks, 25 national forests, and elevations ranging from sea level to nearly 14,000 feet. Each year, 300 to 400 thru-hikers attempt to hike from border to border, experiencing pain, hunger, joy, loneliness, regret, and fear.
