Grüsse vom Mars plot

Ten-year-old Tom is a little different from other children: he doesn't like change or the color red. His great passion is space and his favorite clothing is his astronaut suit. When Tom, together with his brother and sister, has to stay with his grandparents for six weeks, he sees it as a big disaster. His mother therefore suggests that he consider the sleepover as a test mission to Mars, because Tom wants to be the first person to fly to Mars, right? If he can survive six weeks with his grandparents, then a mission to Mars is easy.
