La Machine à Écrire et Autres Sources de Tracas plot

Two unusual psychiatric institutions in Paris are the focus of Nicolas Philibert’s On the Adamant (2023) and Averroès & Rosa Parks (2024). In The Typewriter and Other Headaches, he follows some of the characters from these films at home, visiting them in the wake of volunteers who offer practical help – repairing the typewriter on which Goulven types his poems or checking the CD player of Muriel, for whom playing music is a ray of light in her lonely existence. The musical Ivan has a problem with his printer and DVD player, and his housemate Gad gets advice about his ambition to work. And Frédéric gets help sorting his ever-expanding collection of music and books.
