Good film in which a young woman gets back in touch with her father after the death of her mother. A fairly simple, but entertaining plot (especially because you as a viewer are left in the dark, just like the main character). But what makes the film quite unique is the combination of the location work and the camera work (an iPhone that hardly stands out in the street scene). A small 3.5 stars.

The old espionage thriller genre is given a new twist. It's a thrilling crime story in a tried-and-true style, featuring distrust, deception, a Macguffin, and chases. Modern technology is incorporated to spy on people and store secret information.

Maya is an accidental heroine who becomes entangled in an international plot. She's young, hip, and headstrong, but her desire is to repair the broken bond with her father. A childhood photo reminds her of the fleeting happiness of her childhood. British Phoebe Dynevor is a revelation.

In a hectic atmosphere, Maya travels from New York to Egypt, India, and South Korea. Sites of historical significance include the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Hangang Bridge in Seoul, but otherwise, all major cities resemble each other in a globalized world. The fact that it takes place during the coronavirus crisis is evident in the face masks.

Everything was filmed with an iPhone, which is positioned close to the actress. Everything is shown from her perspective, as if you're looking over her shoulder. The combination of moving images and dreamy electronic music creates the feeling that the entire adventure is one big rush. This approach could be a trendsetting one.

A solid thriller that's especially entertaining during the first hour, with the cinematography being a strong asset. The camera is positioned close to the lead actress during certain action scenes, heightening both the bond with the character and the tension. Phoebe Dynevor delivers a strong performance, and the various locations in Egypt, India, and South Korea provide enjoyable visuals and plenty of variety. From the scene where Maya (Phoebe Dynevor) meets her father on the bridge, the story becomes less credible and the ending is too easy to wrap up. A bit of a shame, because you can't transfer that much money that easily without anyone knowing. 6.5/10
