Mijn Nieuwe Vrienden van Afdeling Drie plot

Frans Bromet ends up in the Amsterdam rehabilitation clinic Reade after a brain haemorrhage. He quickly picks up his camera and films his roommates and the care staff. Frans discovers how important the intensive supervision is. But the bond with his fellow sufferers is also greater than expected. When he hears about impending budget cuts, his concerns about the future of the institution and therefore also about the rehabilitation process of the clients grow.

In the fall of 2023, Frans Bromet suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. He spent three weeks in Ward Three of the Reade rehabilitation center in Amsterdam, where he received occupational therapy and speech therapy. During his stay, he built up a bond with the other patients in the ward, which is why he returned with his camera after his discharge to record the stories of some of his friends in the ward. One of Bromet's most personal films testifies to the value of personalized care, but also to the support you receive from fellow sufferers in such a rehabilitation center. The conversations are honest, authentic and strikingly humorous. You will not quickly find a better plea against cuts in healthcare.
