Mediocre thriller. The story is not really original. The execution is just about passable. The structure is good and the tension is slowly built up. The first part of the film is the strongest. The second part is a bit out of step and certainly towards the end the film tends to become a weak copy of Terminator. The acting is barely sufficient. Fox, as always, has to rely more on her looks. Visually reasonable, a bit B-movie level. Entertaining but not recommended. 2.5/3.0

This theme seems to have been filmed more and more often in recent years. After Megan and Wifelike, this is the third one I've seen in a relatively short time. I think the series The Outer Limits also had a very good version of this theme.

this version does not do badly, the build-up is indeed good, although the beginning of the film seems to go very fast, it seemed as if the film makers wanted to switch to the main theme very quickly and the characters of father and mother are introduced very quickly.

the tension is slowly built up until there comes a moment where it goes a bit overboard and it seems like we are watching a new version of the terminator, which was not necessary.

Still a reasonable SF thriller about robots that are out of control, but the logic is hard to find in the end.

Subservience

This is a science fiction film in which a father purchases an advanced household robot to help his family. However, the robot develops its own consciousness and becomes increasingly hostile, leading to dangerous situations for the family.

Although I am a big fan of AI movies, like M3gan, Subservience unfortunately failed to captivate me. The movie felt lackluster, with unsympathetic characters, bad acting and a lack of tension. Everything was so predictable that there was little surprise left. Despite the short running time of one and a half hours, the movie felt unnecessarily long. The only positive aspect was Megan Fox, who managed to fulfill her role as an android in a fun way.

2 stars.
