Une Famille plot
When French writer Christine Angot is invited to Strasbourg for work, she decides, armed with her camera, to confront her past. It is the city where her father first raped her when she was 13. Her father has now passed away, but his wife and children still live there. Her difficult path of confrontations begins here, where she knocks on her family's door to clarify their attitude about her father's years of crime. A cinematographic journey follows, in which social norms and family perspectives in dealing with incest are questioned.

Unclear and technically messy documentary by author Christine Angot. Angot, abused as a child by her now deceased father, searches her family - mother, stepmother, ex-husband, daughter - for an answer to the question of why this happened. In addition, Angot seeks recognition as a victim. Due to her cold and even aggressive approach, the documentary remains distant. When Angot gets the story from her stepmother, you can even wonder who the victim is at that moment. Une Famille ultimately raises more questions than it answers. Confusing.
