A film that relies on contemporary technology and culture, but uses too many stereotypes and lacks courage. For example, a lot of bloody bits are nicely conceived, but so cheaply executed that they leave little impact. The acting is otherwise decent, but no more than that. Many actors and actresses are given very easy roles and the cast members benefit from that, despite the chronic lack of substantive logic. Ultimately, it is the predictability that completely ruins the whole thing, because director duo Katherine Barrell and Melanie Scrofano put too little surprise and/or innovation in the film. It is easy to watch and the absurdity is infectious, but it all feels too tame and familiar to make a lasting impression. Too bad, but they have been made worse in the past.
