Very entertaining film. The film has a good pace, it all looks neat and at times even funny. Especially the first half hour is good. The practical effects are well present and look excellent. When Rippy himself comes into the picture, the money appears to have run out. That looked a lot worse, but that certainly does not spoil the fun.
A wonderful little film that fortunately doesn't take itself too seriously.

In these kind of movies everything depends on a good or bad CGI, and this is a very weak one I must say. I read that in many reviews too, and I can only agree with them. If it had been good, I would have given one point more, because for being Australian it was still reasonable.....

The Red, aka Rippy, is an Australian horror film that unintentionally follows in the tradition of Black Sheep (Film, 2006). Most of the film is presented quite seriously, but the Killer Kangaroo is endearing and therefore also funny.
That doesn't change the fact that this film feels much more authentic than many American monster movies, precisely because of the presence of the Rambo Kangaroo. Does that make it a good film? Far from it, but as a fan, you'll still be watching with fascination, hoping for a creative kill of the most adorable monster in horror film history.
The Red is pulp from the outside category but who cares!
