This epic drama shows how the Kazakh khanate came into being in the fifteenth century. Within the territory of the White Horde there was division and fragmentation. Outside the borders there lived hostile peoples.
Janibek and his brother Kerei, two descendants of Genghis Khan, want to restore unity. They organize a migration and try to forge the many nomad tribes into one people. The villain on duty is the power-hungry Abu'l-Chair Shaybani.
This results in spectacular scenes with CGI and many extras. Highlights include a fight with a lion, and a battle with swords and crossbows. A hawk plays the role of a carrier pigeon. The chapan is a traditional dress suitable for riding on horseback across the inhospitable steppe. Clothes are decorated with embroidery and jewelry.
The main characters are historical, although of course it is romanticized history. With this large-scale work, Kazakhstan puts itself on the map.
