Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story plot

Billy finds a wild otter in desperate need of help washed up on his pier on the remote Scottish islands of Shetland. Billy, his wife Susan and their devoted sheepdog Jade gain a unique new family member, whom they name Molly. They make the animal healthy again with the aim of preparing it for the long winter.

Sympathetic, sometimes a little too sappy documentary about the depressed Scot Billy who develops a special friendship with a wild otter on the remote Shetland Islands. The well-intentioned life lessons that are conveyed in the voice-overs are sometimes a bit on the pedantic side, but the spectacular surroundings and the truly beautiful camera work make up for a lot. And that otter is really endearing.
