Motel Destino plot
The clumsy Elias runs the Motel Destino, a sex motel on the side of the road, with his frustrated wife Dayana. After a contract killing doesn't go as planned, 21-year-old Heraldo flees from the police and his clients. He ends up in the motel. Dayana is immediately intrigued by him, after which they devise a dangerous plan together to regain their freedom.

Heraldo [Iago Xavier] flees after the death of his brother [Renan Capivara] and finds refuge in the sex motel of Elias [Fábio Assunção] and Dayana [Nataly Rocha] where he lends a hand in exchange for shelter. The sighs, groans and screams of clients dominate and as soon as that fades Heraldo and Dayana start having sex. What would Elias say if he found out? And how safe is Heraldo in this motel anyway? With the stylized use of primary colors, Aïnouz wants you to believe that we are dealing with a slow burner à la Michael Mann. In fact, it is a series of sex scenes and a denouement that you could see coming miles in advance. Nice packaging, disappointing content.

The trailer promised more than the film could deliver. I often like a psychedelic atmosphere, but then it has to serve a purpose and come from somewhere and that was not the case here.
It's a somewhat unbalanced film anyway, with many undeveloped threads and a few unfortunate stylistic breaks.
But still I enjoyed myself quite well. It has a nice pace and I had to laugh a few times, although maybe not always at moments that were actually meant to be funny.
