Son Hasat plot

Ali and his wife Aysel live in a small village, surrounded by a large lake and immense reed fields. They have to work hard to make ends meet. On top of that, they are exploited and abused by mafia bosses. Ali looks for ways to escape the misery and tries to smuggle cane illegally. It is a risky undertaking, not without danger.

There are lost minds who call this a slow burner, but these kinds of morality dramas were already being made in Hollywood more than 100 years ago and were already old-fashioned then. Ali [Hilmi Ahiska] rebels against a large landowner [Ercan Kesal] who controls the reed trade in the remote Turkish village where Ali lives and works with his wife Aysal [Sevgi Temel] with tragic consequences that you can see coming well in advance and that are repeated twice!
