Director and co-writer Josef Hader tells a story about a crime in the countryside and uses a lot of humor. Not humor that makes people laugh out loud. It is subdued humor of the bitter kind. Humor that always balances on the edge of tragedy. Well done and very nice.

In the first scene, Hader succeeds perfectly in depicting in a nice dryly comic way the small, manageable world in which the titular Andrea lives and works. Everyone knows each other. Everyone knows everything about each other.

The oppressive image of her world is further specified in the following scenes. After the viewer has been sufficiently introduced into Andrea's world, it is time to start the criminal plot. Andrea accidentally runs over her ex-husband and drives on. To her surprise, the local alcoholic and religious teacher Franz (a role by director Hader) later shows up, who firmly believes that he is the cause of the accident. For Andrea, all negative consequences seem to have been resolved in one fell swoop. Nice role by Minichmayr as Andrea. She plays a very nervously reserved, dry and careless character. The scenes she has together with actor Hader are among the best in the film.

The unfortunate situation is not dramatically exploited by director Hader by making Andrea a character burdened with feelings of guilt or a character who completely collapses due to the fear of being discovered. Those things do not play a role in her. The emphasis is more on the question of whether Andrea is prepared to prevent the downfall of the tragic figure that is Franz. Hader emphasizes the absurdity of the situation. From this dilemma, a fine dryly comic and tragicomic story develops. Nice.
