De Wereld van Carlijn plot

Carlijn Kingma's impressive work of art "The waterworks of our money" efficiently illustrates the way in which the financial sector is intertwined with our daily lives. When you see the work, it's hard to imagine why anyone would want to start something so detailed and complex. Patience seems to be the key word in this portrait, which follows Kingma from the creation of her work to the exhibition at the Venice Biennale. Filmmaker Ariane Greep shows a professional at work, who slowly but surely refines her work to arrive at the final masterpiece.

Wonderful to watch the drive of Carlijn Kingma, and the detailed drawings she makes are truly beautiful. The story about money flows interested me a little less, but was certainly interesting enough not to bore me. I found Carlijn herself, but especially her posh boyfriend, a little bit annoying at times.
