Eloise Cavendish is an expert on Jane Austen and the keynote speaker at the annual Jane Austen Conference, but she also has another motive. Victoria Jennings, who sits on Princeton's hiring committee and is an Austen scholar, will be present. Eloise wants to ingratiate herself with her and secure the position of the most important Austen researcher. At the airport, Eloise is stunned when she sees a man dressed as Mr. sees Darcy holding a sign with her name. He is her guest of honor and offers to drive her to the conference.
