I really enjoyed watching the series in my thirties, but they really should have left it at that. The characters are gone, there really wasn't anything left to do. A dreary repetition of moves from the series in a slow film - shrouded in negativity and arguments.

The carefully constructed storylines in the series are completely turned upside down without any hesitation. The random reunion of Bart and Lot feels like a forced and misplaced attempt to artificially relive the spark that once was there, but it lacks any kind of believability. Even more astonishing is the plot twist in which Ed appears on the scene and all the problems (he really didn't want children) suddenly seem solved. It's as if the directors wanted to pour a magical 'happy ending sauce' on the series with this film, but that failed completely. Instead of a worthy ending, we unfortunately get a grumpy, superficial and unbelievable ending that does injustice to the rich story of the series.
