Road to Boston plot
"The race for freedom. The win for dignity."
In 1947, two years after Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, Seo Yoon-bok is a 24-year-old marathon runner. He is preparing for the 51st Boston Marathon with trainers Sohn Kee-chung and Nam Seung-ryong. National coach Kee-chung won the gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but because Korea was then under Japanese colonial rule, he wore the Japanese flag on his chest. Kee-chung really wants his pupil Yoon-bok to win the Boston Marathon with the Korean flag. After many difficulties getting there, they finally arrive a week before the race starts.
