Vjeran Tomic: The Spider-Man of Paris plot
On May 19, 2010, Vjeran Tomic waited for the guards to make their rounds, removed the glass door he had patiently unscrewed the days before, and then slipped into the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris. Seventeen minutes later, Tomic left with five masterpieces worth 100 million euros. After eight years in prison and loneliness, the thief reveals in this documentary the details of the robbery that he considers his masterpiece.

The narrator is the spider man. Is he the kid or the superhero? The exciting (life) story lends itself to a good thriller or perhaps just a comic book (!).
Not all of the characters could be explored in depth, so it is spiced up with some - sometimes surprising - interviews with “the extras”. In between, I was suddenly fascinated by the sometimes covered and sometimes not covered “detective nose” of the (anonymous) man with a balaclava. Just when I saw the documentary ending somewhat predictably, it turned out that the director had really done his best to spice up the ending with some brief tension and romance. A small 3.5/5 ⭐️
