Eindeloos Gepest: Het Verhaal van Daan plot

The then sixteen-year-old Daan is systematically excluded by his fellow students, which is why he decided in 2019 that he no longer wanted to continue. In this documentary, some of his former classmates come together to talk about the tragic cause of Daan's death. His family also looks back on what happened to Daan.

With a title like "Endlessly Bullied" the story seems clear. It's about a boy who tries his best to fit in, but he can't. He is ignored and not invited to classmates' parties. Those around him say that he is sensitive and likes bunnies and musicals. But occasionally you also heard that he asked for too much attention and did so in an annoying way, causing people to turn against him. And although he had a group of friends, he decided to take his own life. A bit misleading title

On April 4, 2019, 16-year-old Daan took his own life. Four years later, Lotte and Anne, who were in his class for two years, decided to organize a special class reunion to discuss the role the class played in this. According to them, Daan was “bullied endlessly” and that played a major role in Daan's decision to end his life. Unfortunately, the turnout is somewhat disappointing and therefore offers insufficient new insights. Timmers fails to find out whether other factors also played a role, making this documentary not very convincing. Much more interesting is the attention paid to Daan's younger sister Julia, who cleverly expresses the influence Daan still has on her.
