Het Leven Is Niet Kort Genoeg plot

In high school, Joey Benistant (32) was already filming his group of friends from Groningen, then for Jackass-like recordings. But while everything is mostly about laughing in the beginning, Joey sees his best friend Matthijs decline in the years that follow due to excessive drinking and drug use. While the rest are finding their way in life, Matthijs is going in the opposite direction. Benistant continues to visit and film his friend, even in the darkest moments. What is it like to be best friends with someone who has a self-destructive attitude? How do his other friends and his then girlfriend look back on this?

"While the rest find their way in life, Matthijs is going in the opposite direction." Well, their worlds were not that far apart, there was enough in the lives of his friends that gave rise to his addictive behavior. Enough to leave a bit of a bad taste in your mouth while watching, *3.0
