In the 1980s and 1990s, the Netherlands was regularly startled by 'politically violent activism' by the Revolutionary Anti-Racist Action (RARA). In September 1994, the police arrested investigative journalists Jan Müter and Hans Krikke on suspicion of membership of the RaRa. After all, they belonged to the Revolt research collection and focused on the same themes as RaRa. Daniel Krikke was six years old when his father was arrested in his presence and the police searched the entire house. In this documentary he tries to talk to his father about that day, about the interrogation, but also about the roots of his father's activism. Inevitably, hidden emotions surface, including when Hans comes face to face with fellow sufferer Jan Müter for the first time in a very long time, about whom he carries deep feelings of guilt. As a portrait of two men whose reputations have been destroyed by false accusations, this is captivating, but as a family portrait it lacks the emotional depth Daniel was probably hoping for.
