The Return plot
"Some legends are more than myths."
After twenty years of absence, Odysseus washes up on the coast of Ithaca, ragged and unrecognizable. The king is finally home, but much has changed in his kingdom since he left to fight in the Trojan War. His beloved wife Penelope is now a prisoner in her own home, hounded by her many ambitious suitors to choose a new husband and king. Their son Telemachus, who grew up fatherless, is in danger of being killed by the suitors who see him as an obstacle. Odysseus has also changed. Marked by his wartime experiences, he is no longer the mighty warrior his people remember. But he is forced to confront his past in order to regain the strength needed to save his family and regain the love he lost.
