Variable, rather schizophrenic French film that combines intimate family drama with apocalyptic situations, in this case acid rain that threatens the world. The long-winded beginning is worthless and apparently has little to do with the rest of the film. Fortunately, it gets a lot better after that, partly due to the strong lead role of Guillaume Canet and a number of exciting and intense scenes. However, it is not enough to make a coherent and convincing whole out of this.
