Rothko: Pictures Must Be Miraculous plot

The well-known painter Mark Rothko (1903-1970) is regarded as one of the most renowned figures of abstract expressionism and transformed the art world in the early 1940s. For years he sought his unique voice. Rejected by galleries and museums, he barely made ends meet on an occasional sale and his job as an art teacher. In 1948 he discovers his style that would make him world famous. The documentary tells the bumpy road he has traveled.
