The Thief Collector plot

It was one of the most puzzling art thefts of a generation: In 1985, a groundbreaking work by Willem de Kooning was cut from its frame and stolen from an Arizona museum. For years it was untraceable. Until the precious painting was found more than thirty years later in the house of a deceased couple of teachers. The thieves turned out not to be hardened criminals, but two gentle people with an obsession that got out of hand. How does their criminal act reconcile with their gentle life?
