A Tourist's Guide to Love plot
Tour guide Amanda Riley is unexpectedly abandoned by her boyfriend John when he moves away. To get away from it all, Amanda decides to accept an assignment for her job at a travel agency to secretly go to Vietnam and learn about the tourism industry. There she meets Vietnamese, free-spirited tour guide Sinh Thach, with whom she discovers adventure and romance as they decide to divert the tour bus to explore life and love off the beaten track.

Genre Hallmark romantic film. This one has an extra atmospheric approach for me, viz. Vietnam. This is a trip on my bucket list for me and this film takes you on a tour through beautiful Vietnam. Although the story is a bit cliché, the setting makes up for it a lot, which makes me rate this movie just a little higher than the standard romcom. Seeing the movie makes me want to see Vietnam even more. Will not be for everyone, but if you like a typical romantic nothingness and if you want to experience a bit of Vietnam, definitely worth a look… 3.5 *

One of the better movies Netflix has released. Also the first Netflix original film to be shot in Vietnam. This stars Rachel Leigh Cook and Missi Pyle, who were previously seen together in Josie and the Pussycats.
Although the story is still extremely predictable, the film contains beautiful cultural aspects. In addition, we are treated to the beautiful landscape in Vietnam. The cast isn't much, but the film is quite enjoyable. This is in contrast to other crap that Netflix has released over the years.
