Sebastian is engaged to Ellie. She encourages him to take his immigrant father Salvo, a hairdresser, for a weekend with her super-rich and extraordinarily eccentric family. The weekend develops into what can only be described as a fierce culture clash. Sebastian and his father later discover that the beauty of family is that everything revolves around family.

De Niro happily continues to tarnish his own reputation in this sad copy of the equally unmemorable Meet The Parents and related articles. He plays Salvo, an Italian immigrant who, against the wishes of his son Sebastian [Sebastian Maniscalco], decides to accept the invitation of the parents of Sebastian's fiancée [Leslie Bibb] for a family weekend. Ellie's parents are Salvo's opposites in almost everything, and so on. Corny comedy based on cultural stereotypes is yet another nail in the coffin of De Niro's career. With two Oscars in his pocket and a fat bank account, that won't bother him much, but can he stop wasting his talent on this kind of mess?

Mediocre film in which a man introduces his father to his future in-laws. All seen before and better. The differences in wealth and culture between the two families are still entertainingly worked out. For the rest, both the story and the humor are quite predictable. Robert DeNiro does nothing wrong in itself, but rather see him in a different role.
