Darkness of Man plot
Two years ago, Interpol agent Russell Hatch saw the aftermath of a routine raid gone wrong that killed his informant. Since then, Hatch has played the role of a father figure to her son Jayden. When an old CIA friend warns him about an impending war between the Russian, Albanian and Korean mafia in Los Angeles, Hatch doesn't believe him at first. However, two Russian criminals soon attack Jayden's grandfather in Koreatown. Fortunately, they are met by an enraged Hatch who fights them to protect the old man and his cause. The attack prompts Hatch to formulate a plan to protect Jayden and his grandfather from the looming war between the merciless gangs.

Just watched Darkness of Man and share DiDa's thoughts. I was also really looking forward to the new Van Damme. But it also disappointed me a bit. Expected more fight scenes. And not much action either. Hopefully Le Jardinier and Kill em all 2 provide more entertainment and keep hoping for Full Love.
3 stars for this somewhat slow action film Darkness of Man. Go check this one out again.

Interpol agent Russell Hatch [Jean-Claude Van Damme] takes care of Jayden [Emerson Min] after Jayden's mother is killed for betraying a drug gang. Half-Korean Jayden is now a teenager looking for a 'real family' and thinks he can find it with his uncle Dae Hyun [Peter Jae]. But my uncle is even a drug criminal and does everything he can to drag Jayden into the world of crime. Van Damme looks tired and the monotone voice-over is full of pseudo-philosophical talk. You can guess how this 13-a-dozen film ends. Shannen Doherty (Beverly Hills, 90210) has a small role as a flirty teacher, if that interests you.
