The dog Reggie is abandoned by his owner Doug. He decides to go find him and take revenge on him, swearing to bite off his genitals. In his quest, the foul-mouthed Reggie is assisted by other stray dogs.

Poo, pee and penises are the extraordinarily recurring themes in this barely noticeable slander that no dog should venture into. Reggie [Will Ferrell] doesn't understand that his terrible owner [Will Forte] wants to get rid of him, even when (for reasons that cannot be explained) he drives three hours to dump Reggie in the big city with a tennis ball. Reggie gets help from Bug [Jamie Foxx], Maggie [Isla Fisher] and Hunter [Randall Park] to find the way home. The foursome concoct a ritual that will make them PFFs (guess what the P stands for). If that's not bad enough, just wait until the foursome end up in jail. Easily one of the worst movies of all time, totally unsuitable for kids and totally unpleasant.

Entertaining movie. A fun, original premise. Don't know how much the dogs were CGI but that was also very well done. The film especially excels at jokes about dog existence itself. There's quite a bit of creativity in that. At too many times the movie is just gross for the sake of being gross. Eating magic mushrooms and then showing the hallucinations, how many films has that been in by now? Bit unoriginal. Therefore a moderate score.

The film is well made but unfortunately not very funny. Even more annoying is that it is one of those typical formula films that at times made me want to punch myself in the face. Obviously the dogs get into a fight and become friends again at the end... That really happens in every comedy. It seems as if the script was written by artificial intelligence. Even more stupid is that a scout girl has gone missing and the dogs find her 1 meter into the woods next to a road That makes no sense at all.
