after half an hour of expectant watching I wanted to give up. If only I had done it, I could have watched something nice in the other half hour. Time wasted .

Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself determined to leave comedy and become an action hero. The film is, as the title Die Hart might suggest, just a comedy. A comedy that pokes fun at the action genre. This is done in a winking manner with action scenes that get out of hand, name dropping and cameos.

Sometimes that's pretty funny. Kevin Hart's self-deprecation is amusing to some extent. For fans of Hart, it will be nice to be bombarded with Hart's typical humor, which is especially boisterous. If you like Hart's humor and have no problem with the humor being repetitive, you'll probably have a great time.

I found it monotonous. The loudness and posturing that characterizes Kevin Hart's humor is not much for me. After an entertaining start, I soon lost my laughter.

Film version of the Emmy-nominated series of the same name in which Kevin Hart, after six films as the comedic sidekick of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, longs for a chance to prove he is a bona fide action star. When the successful action director Claude van de Velde [Jean Reno] lets us know that he wants to work with him, he seizes the opportunity with both hands. To do this, he must first go through a boot camp under the guidance of Ron Wilcox [John Travolta], who places him in an environment where the dividing line between real and fictional action is almost invisible. Full of witty finds, including the Kevin Hart dummy ("O Hell No") and a supporting role for Josh Hartnett as Josh Hartnett, Travolta was not so good and in his element for a long time. But screenwriters Tripper Clandy and Derek Kolstad overplay their hand in the last half hour with too many plot twists, possibly because they couldn't think of a better way to reach a running time of 90 minutes. Definitely worth a look and much better than the sequel: Die Hart: Die Harder.
