More than eighty years after explorer Bradford Washburn first photographed Mount Denali in Alaska, climbing buddies Renan Ozturk and Freddie Wilkinson look at some of Washburn's photos and have a crazy idea. Instead of going up, their dream is to go sideways: over the mountain range's most formidable peaks. It's a new way for them to explore the same landscape that Washburn first discovered. As they explore the route over the course of two expeditions, with icy sleeping quarters, cut ropes and falling rocks along the way, their desire to be the first to complete the daring line grows into an obsession.
