In the near future, technology will be so developed that women will no longer have to endure pregnancy to have a child. Rachel [Emilia Clarke] has registered with 'The Womb Center' for a pod (Pod) that will allow her to have a child. Husband Alvy [Chiwetel Ejiofor], a botanist who laments how far man has strayed from nature, knows nothing about it. So when Rachel is unexpectedly told that a 'pod' is available for her, she and Alvy are faced with a challenge. Barthes asks interesting questions about our increasing dependence on technology - also in many other aspects of life - and what is left of our relationship with nature, but the story is a bit muddled and as a comedy it just won't catch fire.

Mediocre film about a future in which a woman is no longer necessary for pregnancy. The picture of the future sketched here is fairly subtle. As a satire it sometimes lacks some sharpness, and despite a few entertaining moments it is a bit monotonous as a whole. Emilia Clarke and Chiwetel Ejiofor are having fun together.
