Based in the port metropolis of Lagos, the industry is known for fast-produced low-budget films. In recent years, however, Nollywood has undergone major changes. The Internet makes cheap worldwide distribution possible and numerous multiplex cinemas are opening in the African megacities. A turbulent dynamic has started.
