Elesin Oba: The King's Horseman plot
In life, it is the responsibility of the king's horseman to carry out the royal travel plans smoothly. And now that the king of Yorubaland has passed away, Yoruba tradition dictates that Elésin Oba must accompany his master on his final journey to the afterlife. The day has come for Elésin's ceremonial suicide, but the king's horseman, enjoying the admiration of the community a little too much, is distracted by earthly urges and pleads for marriage to a girl he has caught sight of. Meanwhile, the British are flexing their muscles with an impotent display of power that will have devastating consequences.
