Director Rob York conducts a fairly charming film with a relatively small budget, although certainly not flawless. The enthusiastic acting of the members in particular takes Curse of Crom to a higher level. In terms of content, however, it is basic food where an old legend throws a spanner in the works of a few teenagers. In that respect, little is done by York to distinguish his film from similar results, and in addition the so-called "Crom Cruach", a pagan god in pre-Christian Ireland, looks only mediocre. The arrival of the creature (where frequent use of fog machines creates a nice atmosphere) is regularly more interesting than the actual appearance. Moreover, York focuses on various tension arcs, but does not go much further than a few slow scares and few monster attacks. Fortunately, the underlying drama manages to add something and the result continues nicely at a gradual pace. I hope the director treated his actors to a round of clubbing after shooting, because they are the film's biggest strength.
