La Eterna Noche de las Doce Lunas plot

'La Eterna Noche de las Doce Lunas' tells the story of a girl named Pili, a member of the wayuu, who lives on the border between Venezuela and Colombia. After her first menstrual period, as part of her transformation from girl to full-fledged woman, she is locked up in a small shed by her family for a year. Here she learns the traditions of her tribe, such as weaving and sewing, so that she can increase her value as both wife and bride. During her year in isolation, her family is busy selling her on the market to the highest bidder.
