Film fits in seamlessly with the current number of natural disasters. It is a survival drama about a young mother and her newborn baby, who try to escape an ecological crisis. An apocalyptic film with Jodie Comer as a convincing protagonist. Katherine Waterston's somewhat relaxed contribution is more than welcome.

This disaster film clearly relies more on strong acting than on spectacle. Due to an ecological phenomenon, British society is collapsing and a mother (Jodie Comer) must survive with her newborn baby amid the chaos. Comer is impressive in the lead role and the film is compelling, despite the slow pace and deliberately unstable script. Here and there the special effects are still quite impressive.

A woman [Jodie Comer] gives birth to her first child just as her house falls victim to a flood that has destroyed much of England. In the chaos that follows, she receives support from her parents-in-law [Mark Strong, Philippa Peake]. She soon discovers that even her husband [Joel Fry] is unable to give her the help she needs. She decides to look for a new future for her baby on her own. Depressing ecological and psychological drama with superficially developed characters and a lack of plot. The cast is good, the screenplay is not. Executive producer Benedict Cumberbatch appears as a short-lived visitor.
