This film tells the story of a French official who unwittingly comes into conflict with one of the most powerful and dangerous forces of modern times: the FSB. Mathieu is a cheerful and devoted diplomat who accepts a post in Irkutsk as head of the Alliance Française of Siberia. He hopes the change will be good for his family and his troubled marriage, but soon finds himself at odds with local authorities organizing cultural events and supporting artistic expression. He is accused of a terrible crime, but he soon realizes that someone has made up a case at the Russian Federal Security Service and he has been framed.
