A Thursday plot
Naina Jaiswal is staying in her betrothed's sprawling house. Part of his house has been converted into a play school, which is run by Naina. She falls ill and returns to kindergarten three weeks later, on a rainy Thursday. After the parents drop off the children and leave, the maid, Savitri, asks Naina for a vacation the next day. After Savitri leaves and Naina is alone with the children, she calls the police station in Colaba and tells them that she has taken 16 children hostage. Her demands, which are troubling the police and leaders, send shockwaves across the country.

This thriller about the hostage taking of small children is in fact an indictment against Indian society, which prefers to ignore sexual abuse. The abrupt changes in atmosphere and the long concealment of the motive keep it exciting. Great tour-de-force from Yami Gautam Dhar, now an established name in the Bollywood firmament.
