Barbaric Genius plot
Documentary that reveals the colorful life story of ex-con, chess player and author John Healy. The man, born in Ireland, grew up with an abusive father in a small town. Later he joined the army and abandoned them. Healy subsequently became a homeless alcoholic in London. For a minor crime he ended up in prison, where he met a burglar with a talent for chess. Healy learned the game and later took part in more than ten international chess competitions.
