John McAfee is the inventor of one of the most successful (and most hated) software programs of all time: McAfee Anti-Virus. The original villainous computer genius was worth $100 million at its peak. But when his neighbor was murdered, McAfee fled and invited a film crew to join him. This documentary reveals never-before-seen footage of McAfee, a man who ran for president and claimed to have hacked the world, while being chased by authorities.

John McAfee's name is inextricably linked to one of the most widely used antivirus programs in the world. But in 2012, the police raided his home because McAfee was suspected of producing methamphetamine. Later that year, he went on the run because the police suspected him of murdering his neighbor, Gregory Faull. VICE reporter Rocco Castoro and cameraman Robert King saw a chance for a scoop when McAfee invited them to follow him while he was on the run from the authorities. Castoro and King look back on this bizarre period using their footage. McAfee's erratic behavior sparks interest, but not enough for an entire documentary. And when King says for the umpteenth time that what happened back then was truly “crazy,” you know better.
